Farm Dinners and Tours...
At Mint Creek Farm, we realize it's an imperative to share the farm's inner workings, and to open up our doors (I mean fences!) so people experience & see for themselves the teeming life of pasture plants and livestock running around here! We are more than just a farm business--we are a community of folks doing their best to live and eat ethically and joyfully! No time is this clearer than at the farm dinner and tour events! As far as our day-to-day lives lead us from it in distance, the nature and life on the farm is still at the heart of our physical sustenance.
We teamed up with our lovely neighbors at Greenhouse B&B and locally-sourcing guest chefs from Chicago about 7 years ago to start our farm dinner and tour offerings. Over the past several seasons we have created one of the most wonderful farm dinner and tour experiences in Illinois, and we are overwhelmingly grateful for all the people who have made this possible!
Eat a delicious meal and enjoy a full farm tour, in which you can meet all our animals up close and personal, and get to know our farming philosophy firsthand.

The dinners/brunches range with the different guest chef’s styles. Whichever event you choose, there is always a lot of good locally-sourced food involved, and oftentimes it is served family style.
Are there vegetarian options?
Yes, there will always be at least two dishes/courses that vegetarians can eat at our events, though not all courses/dishes are vegetarian. We ask are chefs to cater to meat eaters and vegetarians alike so all can enjoy the farm. Please feel free to tell the staff at the event if you are a vegetarian so they can bring you extra of those specific dishes.

I want to stay at the Greenhouse B&B the nights before and of the farm event, who should I contact?
Contact Mark & Guia Hoffman at the Greenhouse B&B through their website. The B&B fills up around the farm events, so book as far in advance as possible.
How long will it take to get to the farm from Chicago?
It should take 2hrs or less to get from Chicago to the farm from most neighborhoods of the city.
Are your events kid-friendly?
Yes! Everybody enjoys themselves at these events, but kids especially love being in the outdoors and seeing the farm animals. We also discount kids’ tickets (see pricing) to make it easier to bring them along.
When do I need to buy my ticket by?
We have to close ticket sales at least a few days before the event to get a final head count and we encourage you to purchase your tickets as far as ahead as possible. This is to make sure you get tickets before the events sell out, but also as a courtesy to the chef so they can plan for an accurate guest count.
Can I just join the tour and not attend the meal part of the event?
No, most all our events are set-up as a complete package with tour & shared meal. An exception to this is we will have just tours by themselves & an optional potluck at our autumn Turkey Festival event in October. Stay posted for details.
Do you do event ticket refunds/cancellations?
If something comes up and you need to cancel, we do full refunds for tickets up to 2 weeks before the event. If you are cancelling last minute (less than 2 weeks ahead) you can get your choice of credit towards tickets at another one of our events (current or following season) or you can transfer your tickets to someone else’s name (if you have friends or family that can make it instead of you).
